Kumamoto boasts of the fact that the prefecture is the largest producer of tomatoes in Japan. Because of this, several tons of slightly irregular tomatoes are being wasted every year, not even going on the market. Producers as well felt sadness over this fact, and which pushed HOSHIKO to take action by using these tomatoes to make people happy by creating something extraordinary. Along with the producers, HOSHIKO was determined to make effective use of the tomatoes. This is how “Kumamoto TOMATO-logy Project” was set up.

We will strive to manufacture and distribute attractive products combining high technology with new ideas from Kumamoto. If things that were formerly thrown away are to be remade and given new value, it will be a source of income for the area, as well as leading to an eco-friendly world, and what is more, we can introduce Kumamoto's cutting-edge technology at the same time. Currently in progress now, we firmly believe that because of the overlap of production and technology, this project can originate nowhere else but in our beloved home, Kumamoto.
